Every refugee has a special story that deserves to be respected. For this reason, our system provides diffused reception in independent apartments to ensure the refugee's integration into the fabric of urban life, while respecting traditions and individual needs. Protection of rights, learning Italian, education, professional training and raising awareness about human rights are the key aspects of our activities so that each person can begin a process of integration in full autonomy. From 2012 to the present, we have accommodated more than 250 refugees and asylum seekers in our facilities and through the SPRAR projects of the Central Service, the office coordinating all the Italian SPRARs, and of the Ministry of the Interior. They include families with children, unaccompanied minors and individuals from crisis areas in Northwest Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Horn of Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. We implement our projects in partnership with ARCI Basilicata, “Il Sicomoro” Social Cooperative and the Province of Potenza in order to complete our integration activities with CILS- or PLIDA-certified Italian courses, work experience and job placement activities, legal orientation and information, school integration, recognition of educational and professional qualifications and creative workshops in the visual arts. |
