Summer Academy 2022 - Public art as an innovative tool to let understand migrations
City of Peace Summer Academy brings together experts from the contemporary art world and practitioners involved in hosting projects for a week to imagine, through public art, a new way of telling the deep reasons for migration: climate change, increasing inequality, human rights. It is an experiment of a small social incubator that can bring participants into dialogue with the hosting context and provide the tools for building a constructive confrontation within contemporary society to understand and make explicit the causes of migration.
WHERE AND WHEN - The City of Peace Summer Academy is held from 5 to 10 September 2022 in Sant’Arcangelo (Pz), a small village in Basilicata where the reception projects for refugees and asylum seekers promoted by the Nobel Peace Prize winner Betty Williams have been active since 2012.
HOW TO APPLY - People from 18 to 35 years of age, of all nationalities, can participate by signing up for the application form to which a valid identity document and a dated and signed up Curriculum Vitae must be attached and sent only with email to This email address is being protected from spambots. The deadline for submission of applications is July 25 2022 - 18:00 Rome time.

The application fee is € 350,00 per person (which include food and accommodation, transports during the week of the summer camp, educational material and the insurance). Furthermore, it’s foreseen as well the subscription to “Friends of the City of Peace Association” of € 5,00.
Since places are limited, applications will be accepted according to the order of arrival and until the maximum number of places available is reached. In any case, priority will be given to scholarship winners.
At least 3 scholarships are foreseen to cover the entire quota.
